Cicada Health Tech Hub Foundations
Helping healthcare professionals learn how ideas become innovations.
The Foundations Program is the starting point in the Cicada HealthTech Hub commercialisation pathway. It’s designed for researchers, clinical and allied health professionals who are curious about health innovation or working on something innovative and want to understand the basics before diving deeper.
Across a series of guided sessions led by commercialisation expert Andy Lamb, you’ll gain the confidence, language, and early frameworks to explore opportunities. You’ll learn how to move ideas in health from concept to impact, understanding the steps involved in generating a robust commercialisation plan - from spotting gaps and shaping value propositions suitable for your stakeholders - and maximise your success in bringing innovations into practice.
No business experience is needed, just curiosity and an openness to explore.

How It Works

Apply online – Tell us a little about yourself, your clinical background, and what’s sparking your interest in innovation.

Join the cohort – Candidates will form a small, supportive group learning together over several months.

Guided sessions – Take part in short monthly facilitated webinars, plus one in-person workshop, to explore frameworks and real-world examples step by step.

Final workshop – Bring your learnings together in a collaborative pitch and feedback session — designed to give you clarity on possible next steps, not pressure to have all the answers.

Stay connected – Continue engaging with the HealthTech Hub community, mentors, and resources to explore future opportunities.
